I think if you enjoyed Luna and The Lie or if alpha male Tumblr fics are your kind of thing, this should definitely be up your alley. But if I ever see the words meat or mushroom used in a bedroom setting ever again, it'll be too soon. Honestly, this could've been a lot worse but the blatant sexism throughout this book was just too much for me and very much not what I enjoy in my romance novels. Sad to say, this is one of my least favourite MZ books that I've read.

That epilogue absolutely wrecked me! It's been a while since I read a book that really made me sob, but Mariana Zapata really knows how to jerk at my heartstrings! I absolutely loved this second chance, found family story even though it wasn't at all what I was expecting. I loved every second of this book and I hope you all stop sleeping on Lenny and her cute New Zealander boyfriend (and their adorable daughter)!

I really had no idea where this was going for a bit there but then I thought about it and I figured there had to be a plot twist coming and then I thought about it a bit more and it hit me exactly what was going to happen so I took a break and jumped right back into this one. The first half was honestly a bit dull, but the other half was really really good and that plot twist really was perfect. I loved the ending and I loved trying to figure this book out even more! Definitely look up triggers before reading but, otherwise, I highly recommend this one for a rainy day where all you want to do is devour a book in one sitting!

This was such a fast read! I really enjoyed the dynamic between Aaron and Ruby and I really enjoyed the slow burn aspect of them first becoming friends and then falling in love but I really wish we'd gotten another 20 pages, or even just one more chapter before the epilogue because that ending felt very abrupt!! I've seen a lot of people DNF this one and the only reason I can think of that they'd do that is because this really is a slow relationship, especially getting off the ground and the two main characters aren't as loud as any of Mariana Zapata's other characters. But, I loved getting to know them and I already want to re-read From Lukov with Love just to see them again as a proper couple!

I didn't love this as much as I was expecting to but I did find it really addicting and I'm almost 100% sure I'm going to love book 2 because if there's anything that's going to draw me into a romance series, it's the bodyguard trope!

I absolutely cannot believe I put off reading this one for so long because as it turns out, I just read one of my top 5 favourite Mariana Zapata books! I've never read a relationship like this one before where the characters just meld so well together (possibly the only relationship to rival these two is Jess and Ivan Lukov) and I loved every moment of it. I've already bought myself a hard copy and I absolutely cannot wait to re-read this one soon!!

Very very short but fun while it lasted.

I could’ve done with some more character development and more time for the main couple to actually fall in love but overall this was a fun, quick read.

Not my favourite but I still really enjoyed it. I liked seeing the main couple interact and I can’t wait to read Dean’s book!
