Taylor Swift announced The Tortured Poets Department yesterday so I figured this was the perfect time to pick this up! Honestly, I enjoyed this more than I thought I would but it was still missing something for me... The ending felt too rushed and I just never felt connected to Riley and Max as a couple, to the point where I literally had to go and look up their names because apparently, I've been calling them the wrong names this whole time?? 🤦‍♀️ I will absolutely read more from these authors, I'll just try to steer clear of narratives with famous characters since I don't seem to enjoy those.

The Unmaking of June Farrow has almost all of the elements that I love and yet... I'm feeling so underwhelmed and just meh about it. The ✨ vibes ✨ were there and it felt so close to almost perfect so many times and then almost immediately I would lose all interest. I wanted to love this so so much but it just never got there for me.
