This was my first Fonda Lee story and I’m happy to say that I think this was a great place to start! Now I’m even more excited to one day read her full length books!

This series is just so damn wholesome but god, I wish it wasn’t so expensive considering I devour each volume in about 5 minutes.

As with the other Maureen Johnson mysteries that I’ve read, I really enjoyed the vivid setting but could care less about the main character in the modern day timeline. This one also felt a bit underbaked towards the end. That being said, if MJ writes another mystery standalone and happens to make it adult, I will be seated.

A Psalm for the Wild Built is very much akin to how it feels to drink a good cup of tea at exactly the right temperature.
I really think this would be perfect for anyone who felt at home reading The House in the Cerulean Sea. The two books give me the same calm feeling.
