Wow... if you thought the first book had too much of the movie in the beginning you're going to be very surprised by this one. We are immediately in a whole other twisted story with this one! I didn't love this one as much as Aladdin and Jasmine's story and I'm wondering if I would have appreciated it more had I seen the Disney movie before reading (or at all 🙈).

I had really high hopes for this one after seeing all the rave reviews but unfortunately, this book and I just weren't meant to be. I love the idea of a cozy, wholesome high fantasy with a cute side romance, and usually, I love little slice of life stories but this one just wasn't vibing with me. I've made it sound like I really hated this book which I didn't, I just didn't really have an opinion on it while I was reading. I can absolutely see why so many people adored this book and I can see it becoming a really popular series, it's just not for me.

I didn't enjoy Legends & Lattes when I read it a few years ago but I randomly woke up with the need to be back in this world so I picked this one up and am pleased to report that I actually enjoyed it! I think I'm going to have to go back and reread L&L now that I'm more familiar with cozy fantasy!

For such a chaotic story, this manga is a surprisingly chill read. I'm enjoying just picking up volumes in this series sporadically and when I get to around the 8th volume (i think??) I'll start watching the anime.
