From the description I was expecting something else, but this was decent-ish thriller. It is very slowbuilding action-wise but there is a sense of underlying tension building up as the male main character starts becoming more and more controlling. All the characters are unlikeable, which is not necessarily a problem for me, but I found the female lead particularly annoying and idiotic, even after the revelation about half-way through the book. Her thoughts and actions don't really seem to match and left me shaking my head multiple times throughout. But the plot itself had a very fun idea behind it, even though I was hoping more from the execution.

This book was basically the ship Hannigram, but younger and with less gore and cannibalism. Be gay, do crimes. And be obsessed with each other.

The only negative I would say is that I found the main character a bit whiny at times, but he's supposed to be unlikeable anyway, so 🤷‍♀️ I also listened to this on audio, so that might have affected my perception.

A bittersweet (ha) story of loneliness and love and time, with beautiful and heartwrenching prose. 5/5.

You could perhaps say that the way the story ended was predictable, but sometimes that's OK.

This book had a very promising start, and I was was swept away by the beautiful prose. Unfortunately, however, after the first few chapters, the pacing was painfully slow and it took me a while to get through the book. The ending was quite beautiful, however. I did not hate this book, but it won't become a favourite either.

This was also advertised as a sapphic book, so it was to my dissapointment

when the mfc inexplicably seemed to almost immediately fall in love with the boy who had killed her in such a traumatising way. Perhaps if there had been proper build up to this 2nd romance, I could have accepted it, but it just feels like she falls for him because he's pretty. She even tells him she loves him when they have known each other for 12 days. Spare me. The book would have been much better with just the sapphic romance in it, especially because the 2nd romance was cheating toward her female love interest, and it made me dislike the main character some.
