my problem with some time travel stories is when no one addresses how shitty the past was and how only a privileged idiot would want to stay in the past

I hate straight people

What a stellar and impactful book with a likeable female lead. This book is about survival and exile, hatred and love, oppression and resistance. It felt like I was actually being told Nahr's true story, instead of a fictional book. Unfortunately, the word being as it is, it sounded more than likely to have happened. Free Palestine 🇵🇸

more like he who drowned me in tears

The author's personal story interwoven with history and interviews with the people on the different sites brings together a compelling story of the history of slavery in America and how it has left its marks on the country

loved the relationship and banter between the main couple. the writing was also quite good, but it was very repetitive. the author needs to trust the readers more to remember previous information. I also think I'm getting too old for young adult novels. the magic system already reminded me of star wars (because sw was inspired by asian culture ik) and then

the whole falling to dark side thing happened with Zen, and then he literally quoted Anakin 😭

A great gothic novel about fairytales and toxic, codependent, homoerotic female friendship. Did not see the twist coming

Great fight scenes, but otherwise I was a bit let down, I think my expectations were too high :(
