I think this was my favorite book in the Rajes series! I had liked Naina since she was first introduced, and having her be the focus (albeit the Knightley to Vansh’s Emma) was great. I liked the updates to this Austen story the best of all of the four stories. This book had a lot of heart and how both Naina and Vansh were able to grow and mature was great. 

This was my least favorite of the series so far, but I still really love Murderbot and their journey. It’s so funny and action packed. I like Miki in this, but I missed ART through and I think the story was a little less tight in this one. Still fun!

I love this graphic novel series. This one in particular was wonderful in its exploration of two spirits in the Indigenous community, and Dez’s story was wonderful. It was informative but heartfelt and wonderful. 

I hated this book for the same reasons I didn’t like Rebecca, but at least Rebecca was well written. The main character in this was awful and boring, with her only character traits being nervous and in love with the main man, and the mystery was not that mysterious. I knew from the beginning the two ways this book could end, and honestly it was the most boring of the two that actually happened. Nothing about this book was endearing to me and I think I’ve decided that Colleen Hoover is not for me. 

Admittedly, this book is slow, which isn’t usually my thing. I have an issue with the women characters, especially Maria, and Hemingways fixation on masculinity was a bit much. But, it was his writing that sold me. I don’t know many writers that could create a story that covers only a few days in this way. The last few pages cemented for me the brilliancy of Hemingways writing. Sure, he’s a bit misongynistic and war, but those last few pages were filled with such sincerity and humanity that few could duplicate.  

Sandman is one of those books that I should have read a long time ago and I’m just now getting around to. It is dark and beautiful and adventurous. I started my Sandman journey with the audiobook (I know, a weird choice for a famous graphic novel) which is one of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to. I couldn’t resist any longer, though, and had to get the first book myself. I’m glad I did, because the art of Sandman is another layer to it that I was missing with the audio. I loved Sandman Vol 1 and I’m excited to see where the rest of the series goes. 

This was a great Star Wars story with a character from Clone Wars that I ended up loving. Ventress is such an interesting character and this book gives her journey another interesting turn. The story itself was a bit simple, but the adventure was great. 

To be fair, I did have to speed read the last chunk of this book before it was due back at the library. The story itself was interesting, although it got a little boring. I think it could have been a bit more complex, but the best selling point for this was the vibes. Very 20’s, which was fun. 

This wasn’t the most exciting book I’ve ever read, but the concept and the writing were wonderful. Such a fascinating topic and the language was so good. It did border on pretentious at times, in my opinion, and more things could have happened, but overall I enjoyed it.  

I really disliked Doe for the majority of this book, and while she does grow and the other characters admonish her for her behavior, it still lessened my enjoyment of this book. The story overall was interesting, and I would probably have a copy in my classroom, but that’s about it.
