Clive Barker does not get enough love in this younger generation. Barker is my Stephen King. Barker is so easy to read and does not ramble, he just gets to the point and tells a good story you can visualize. The Hellbound Heart is a classic.

I found the age range for the kids mixed with what they were doing very unrealistic. It was also, I don't know, a little off putting to write a book that is so violent towards children, with details etc. I just do not see why that is fun or entertaining. I do not think that is good writing, just shock value. It was not just some Lord of the Flies stuff. It was just off putting to include such details of children.

I enjoyed it overall. It is dark and sad but Flynn writes well so it made it easier to listen to. It was my second book from her and while I did not enjoy the first book I read, I enjoyed this one enough that I will probably read from her again.

This is a tough book. It caused me a lot of anxiety from all characters. The ending was very depressing and I did not like the message of the story. It left me feeling icky.

Very falsely advertised. What I read did not fit the premise. I was very disappointed and the twist was stupid.

I love adult books with illustrations. They up the experience of reading and can add to the story and make it more unique. While the story itself was not perfect, I still enjoyed my time reading it.
