It definitely redeemed itself after the slump of the last two, but I'm still team #killdimitri. Everything about this plot was just way too convienent and predictable. Richelle Mead doesn't do anythingon accident, every character serves a purpose, so it's easy to figure out plot twists. There's so much interesting world building that is so severely underdeveloped. I do want to read the bloodlines series, however, because I like Sydney and hopefully (unlikely) Richelle will get to expand this universe.

Lissa becomes Khaleesi (mother of dragons for real)

I get what this book wanted to do, but it just failed so spectacularly. Delilah was a horrible main character who was stuck on this whole "special snowflake" idea that she didn't fit in with everyone else and everyone hates her. Oh please. Jodi Picoult's daughter cowrote the novel, but I'm not convinced her daughter is actually a high school student. Because this was the most contrived and stereotyped portrayal of a high school experience. Newsflash: no one really cares if you like to read books instead of talk to people.

And the ending... Just absolutely horrible.

This could have gone very wrong, but instead it went very, very right.
