I expected a lot more out of this book. It was nice, but something seemed to be missing. The action was slow, but the pace moved well. I loved the characterization of Kathy, Ruth, and Tommy. I really connected with Kathy, particularly at the beginning, although I think Ruth ended up being my favorite character. I think the dynamic between the three of them was incredibly well written.
However, the climax was... anti-climatic. Despite Elle's warnings, I didn't shed a tear at all in this book. I was sad, but I was compelled to sit in the corner and cry my eyes out. It bothered me how many characters just seemed to go along with everything they were told and never seemed to fight back against anything. I understand why the author wrote it this way, but it still bothered me.
I just have very mixed feelings towards this novel.

After reading this book, I have come to the opinion that I need more Taoism in my life.
I quite liked this one. It was very charming and I loved the author's interpretation of the classic fairytale. I really do love the tale of The Twelve Dancing Princesses and this book did an excellent of making it a full blown and intriguing story. It would have given it four stars, but there were a few instances when the author's writing was rather mediocre.
Also there was a weeping angel statue. Don't blink.

I fail to see How this was inspired by Snow White and Rose Red, despite there were sisters named Scarlett and Rosie.
There was a lot of suspense and build up, but the ending was a bit of a let down. I expected something a bit more climatic.
Oh Percy Jackson, how I missed you.
RIORDAN YOU BITCH. NO PERCY AND ANNABETH REUNION? That is just cruel.
