Surprised at how much I liked it. Riordan weaved in plenty of myths and gods that hadn't been mentioned in the Percy Jackson series. While Jason was no Percy Jackson (also lack of Percy was disappointing), I did like the characters, Piper in particular. I like how she was written off as some vain daughter of Aphrodite. As usual, there was so much going on that I felt lost throughout the book, but overall I liked it. It dragged on for quite a bit, but the ending was really interesting. I like the incorporation of Roman gods, because while the two sets of gods are similar, there are some differences in the myths. Frankly I was wondering how you could continue on the series, but Riordan has some great ideas. Also I completely understand the meaning of 'The Son of Neptune' title. Which also means Percy Jackson will return in the next book!

This was so snarky and witty; I loved it.

My favorite part of this one was without a doubt, Sunny's comments. If you pay close attention, it's the funniest part of the whole novel. Truly the best part of Snicket's writing is the smallest clever details that you need to really focus on to understand.
