A bit darker than the first book, but not by much. I did like the new twists, it was a little less predictable than the first book. Book technically has a HEA, but heartbreak just before you get there.

A deliciously dark book. While it’s a bit easy to guess where the book is headed (while it ends on a cliffhanger it wasn’t not a surprise), the twists between the MMC’s and the FMC are very hot and cold and kept me on my toes.

Not a typical book that I would read, but ended up really liking it after only a few chapters. The mystery of what happened on the trip two years ago fell away probably halfway through the book and that’s when everything became a little bit more predictable. I don’t necessarily think that that was a bad thing because I did like the storyline and the way the chapters would go chronologically backwards from their first summer trip together to the most recent one two years ago.

This was a pretty good wrap up but I do feel like it just dragged in some places and others the timing was just too rushed.

This is one of the few books that the series ends and everyone (except one) you care about has the story wrapped up. I see it as the author leaving room for a spin off because they still have a plot they could follow but it’s not an overwhelming gap in the ending.

The series overall was good. Not my top favorite but it was a good storyline, interesting magic, plot was slightly different than other series I’ve read.

I definitely thought this book would end with a reunion (you can literally pick any couple for the reunion).
The last 100 or so pages were a pretty big twist. But if you really pay attention instead of just reading for vibes, I think you may be able to pick up on what the twist is.
I’m interested to see how everything gets wrapped up in the last book because this book definitely didn’t end where I expected it to.

While I really like the character progression in this book. The last 10 chapters really gave me the ‘you’re missing all the red flags’ vibes that made me so angry. I do agree that this book could have been a lot shorter, there was a lot of just ‘stuff’ but honestly I didn’t mind how long it was or that there were some slower parts.

This is probably the most interesting and captivating book in the series so far. It’s a bit faster past now that we have advanced the plot and Auren isn’t just a bystander.

Book 2 definitely has more driving plot in it than book one did. It was definitely interesting to see the changes that Auren goes through. While she doesn’t have a lot of development, you do learn a lot about her backstory and I feel like that was missing in book one to really connect me with her.

I think this was a set up book. There was plenty that happened but I still don’t know who the main people will be other than Auren. The writing is okay, but I did find myself skimming parts. It dragged a bit, and I’m still not sure the premise of what’s happening.

What an interesting premise to write a book on. After dying, what do you do next? The thought that you can influence the world around you, but not in the ways you originally think.
This wasn’t so creepy that I couldn’t read it alone at home at night, but it put me a bit more on edge when out and about as a woman trying to be more vigilant for other women.
