I wanted to read a book about female Ethiopian warriors. What I got instead was the story of a man who likes to rape everyone he runs into. Stopped midway as there were more pages detailing sexual assaults than pages without.
Also, this book has my pet peeve of not marking dialogue. Why do you do this, authors? Why do you want to confuse your readers?

Graphic: Rape
Somehow both too complex to be a good introduction and too shallow to be a good thinking piece.
Only needed the first part, with the essays by other people, for the work I'm doing. I read a bit more, which was interesting, so I'd still recommend it.
Deuxième page du roman, deux fois la même erreur d'accord du participe passé. Si je le lis, ça ne sera pas en français.
i feel like a book that says "at the time nobody telecom-muted" in its intro probably shouldn't be read in 2023

idk. felt like a beginner's guide, and the "I've always known" narrative, while completely valid, is not something I'm interested in reading about.

imbitable 💀
Can't believe I wasted several hours of my precious time being told overreacting is bad.
I expected a book about ending policing. This is a book about why police is bad today, not about how to make things better.
