The multilayers of this story beautifully describe what it's like to live with depression in a world that's constantly turning and forgetting about us. Now that the world will indeed, actually stop, so much is left unspoken between our characters.

Now that there's a chance healing may never come, they've decided it's time to confront what's kept them apart. Our main character feels like everyone is better off without her, that they don't need her. You see throughout just how deep that thought runs through her. But as we progress she's forcibly shown just how much the people around her need her presence.

Especially with the end of days steadily approaching. It's a sweet but dark story that shows the reader in minutes our world could change. It's so relatable that it's a bit jarring at times, seeing thoughts and feelings you've only ever kept to yourself. It's beautifully written and is definitely a must-read.

Jade, our main character is faced with problems that only she can see. Her estranged father needs help and who is she to say no when there's something in it for her? She doesn't fit into the traditional ways they're stuck in and has always felt out of place wherever she goes.

But at night the house takes her into the deepest, darkest parts of its past. This gothic horror beautifully encapsulates the horrors of french colonialism and the struggles she faces just being who she is. It's the way generational trauma can manifest and set our worst nightmares alive.

Gorgeous spooky vibes that have you questioning reality at every turn. This book is so important because it's not just about the horror, it's about the poetry lying in between our author's words.

This one is more of a 3.5 for me but I just didn't round up to 4 stars. Our book starts off interestingly creepy with a quick backstory on our land. It's vague but intriguing and has you sucked in for more. Once we hit "modern-day" is when our pacing slows and things get a little distracted.

Our main character all lost their mothers on the same day and no one really knows why. Now no one is really surprised considering the town has a history of this happening to girls. Which absolutely no one has really questioned it seems like. We cut between povs of the girls to find out what led them to the day their mother disappears and so on.

I enjoyed the creepy factor we're given and the great tension that built up the entire book, the pacing had me flicking through but I was adamant about sticking to it because I wanted to know what happened. Everyone around them seems super suspicious the entire time to me and none of it really sits right, and when you do find out some truth you'll be happy you questioned everyone's motives from the start.

Naturally, this is the best thing I've read and seen in a while. I've followed her art for YEARS on Facebook and have always enjoyed her starkness and honesty. Her ability to say so much in just a four-paneled comic or less. The art style is cutesy but can be completely taken seriously in some of her more important works. I've always loved it and will continue to do so. I can't wait to buy a physical copy of this to keep!

This poetic look into the nurturing of soil and earth is beautifully written and poised. It keeps us in touch with how harvest and tending can be just as charming as any other hobby or passion. It's poetry centered around the act of gardening, whether it's plants or our mind. There's always something around us that needs to be tenderly cared for. It felt inclusive and stunning to read and would make a gorgeous gift.

His way of describing things absolutely makes you feel like this is someone you know. That you're sitting around a table and hearing stories from a friend or family member. His hysterical view of life and the way he slowly grew into himself and his identity.

What it was like growing up in a strict religious household and what that meant for his authentic self. You equally acknowledge his childhood and experience as a gay man in college and beyond and the things he faced. The entire time dying of laughter from his humor and bluntness.

The tragedy and madness our author faced makes for an enlightening story full of grace and the blunt truth of facing our past. How she overcame the struggles of life and the inevitability we all eventually stand at. You definitely go into this story not quite prepared for the harsh truth of life she delivered to us.

Plenty of things that would have those succumb to it. But I’m all reality they pushed her to strive for better and keep moving on no matter the sacrifice. Her writing was the perfect combination of abrasive charm and stunning poise.

I would say 3.5 stars for me if I could! This is an abstract twist on the Bridgerton we’ve all become obsessed with or at least heard of. Our author here centers the drama around a curse and we’re thrown into a world of magic playing a role just as important.

Our narrator Puck the Hobgoblin describes every thing in such a gloriously charming way. He has you laughing and and looking forward to every time he interrupts the story to give us a little crumb or morsel of gossip.

We’re taken through several little hijinks with our main characters, who happen to be enduringly sassy and adventurous. In a time and place you wouldn’t suspect, the author takes us on the best sapphic fueled ride of love and romance.

I think where this fell short was the different parts of our story not blending as smoothly as I would have liked. What you think is the end of the main plot line fizzles off a bit and you’re still left with tons left over.

I can say with certainty that anyone who loved The Whisper Man and The Shadows will eat this up in beautiful excruciating ways. If you’re on the hunt for something mind bending and in the need for a story to turn around and pick YOUR brain, this is the one you’ve been searching for.

I think the storyline was very full considering the multiple povs. It at times came across a bit overwhelming and I think at certain points it did take away from the story for me. But I wouldn’t say the details were lost in that, I was still able to make it to the end with an understanding of what had happened.

It just took some trial and error to understand it all. This is full of twists and turns and so many bumps in the road you’ll have to fasten a seatbelt. The authors glorious writing makes up for the distractions and he molded a story that will definitely be a favorite of many.
