dark
Thank you to NetGalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review!
The quantity of gore and unsuspecting horror was absolutely enthralling. It had me on the edge of my proverbial seat the entire time. It felt like pure slasher carnage at times and my immediate thought was “this would be such a fun movie” and I stand by that. It’s essentially dark creatures taking over everything with a hive like mind that completely sends shivers down your spine.
I enjoyed our main character Grace and her hunt for the truth. It’s all happening around Halloween which really makes the story. It was wonderfully diverse and the side characters just as enjoyable. If masks creep you out, this might not be for you!

Finishing this book just a few minutes ago, I’m left heartbroken that it ended. From start to finish I was absolutely enthralled with the interwoven words and stunning writing from the author. It captured my attention from the very start and held me throughout, which is something to applaud for books like this. It kept me constantly guessing and eager to find out how it was all tied up. I can safely say I’ll be recommending this book for forever and on. The ending had me tearing up and jaw dropped. Literally CAN NOT WAIT to reread this when it comes out!!!! My new favorite.

This second installment is in every aspect more well rounded then the first. While I enjoyed The Eye of The World, it’s pacing left much to be desired. It didn’t stop me from loving it but now I can see it was a bit of a struggle compared to this one.
We have more action, more story and character depth, we discover new places and lore throughout. Rand is his normal self but you start to truly grasp the levels to his character. This book strikes the adventurous streak we’ve been hoping for and it’s faster pace leaves you curious for what happens next around every corner. So I’m excited to see what’s in store for me!
