I think this book needs to be a MUST READ for middle grade kids. The overarching themes of self love, strength in our emotions and feelings, to try try try again, and that our friends are one of the biggest assets we can have! I think for kids who don’t want the same story over and over with normal tropes and easy plots will LOVE this. It was quite intense, nothing inappropriate, but it really gave its all in a way you usually don’t see in this age range. It’s unique in its own way and it had me absorbed, considering I’m well out of the reader range on this one.

A young adult book with tons of potential, House of Marionne is here to give dark academia vibes mixed with beautiful feminine rage. Now this story is most definitely aimed at the younger side of young adult but considering the plot, world building, and characters throughout you would still find this read quite enjoyable. I do think there were a few bumps in the road but overall I finished it and was happy I gave it a try! I did really like our main character, Quell.

A poetry collection filled with the down and dirty parts of being alive in this world. While considered depressing, it’s also a way to see others have gone through this life very eerily similar. I think this reflects the places the author has been and that sharing them with the world is important!

A poetry collection inspired by fairytales? A retelling of sorts? Count me in. This was beautifully put together, with so much care it was evidently apparent. There was a smoothness to it and it flowed very easy as I read it. I think the feminism injected into this made for a very important and brave mastery.

We’re here for the zippy, quirky illustrated, joy of a story! This author is well known for her gloriously memorable stories filled with adventure and family. This new series is no different! Leading us through lesson after lesson, we’re faced with how the characters are learning, growing, and building. Her creativity to describe the world is mesmerizing. This is most definitely a must read.

I absolutely enjoyed every second of this comedic parody of a collection. It had me laughing with every turn of the page. I never expected what each one would bring, it was very unpredictable but in the best of ways! Now I need to go back and see everything written by him immediately!
