A touch of heartache and a side of soul touching melancholy. Paired with hope and a little romance. These can be used with most of her writing and books. June Farrow was my favorite read of 2023 and continues to be a Top 5 favorite. Parts of this book were full of tension and haunting, I loved every second. You could definitely consider this a small town mystery that weaves her gorgeous breathtaking writing from the very start!

Thank you to the author and delacorte press for my arc

From start to finish, it’s an addictive ride you won’t want to miss. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy this was to enjoy, while some of the tropes and nuances I noticed are pretty saturated, I thought the authors writing STILL gave it such an enjoyable twist. The magic and “science” behind the quicksilver/alchemist world was really fun to read about. There are a lot of little secrets that I won’t spoil but I was so happy to be surprised as we got closer and closer to the end. I definitely didn’t expect some of the outcomes and it has me BEGGING for the second book!!

Enjoyed the ebook and our buddy read!

Just how I thought it would be - THE CUTEST THING EVER. The author has YET to disappoint. I absolutely loved the first book and this was no exception. The way she writes about D&D and the creative nuances in a game setting, especially one being live-streamed (and played by high schoolers) is so refreshing. It’s honestly so spot on. How in depth they made their characters, the struggles of being a teenager, trying to fit in, enjoying what you love no matter what, all of these came together beautifully. It was also so fun to be able to participate and read how they played their campaign instead of just skipping over those nights. Plus I think her grandma was my favorite character of all time haha.

A great quick read for those who are looking to understand the important of different game types in peoples lives! Also just for the average board game player who wants to see their own thoughts backed up! Very wholesome and informative at the same time.

Such a beautifully thought out children’s story that finally brings in more topics to those who need them the most! It’s easy for them to learn about such an important topic and come to terms with what/how/why gender identity is. Helps explain tolerance and diversity in a fantastic way using animals. Like the main character Lenny who knows he’s a goat but others are giving him a hard time! I loved it and can’t wait to read it to my daughter.

Thank you to Querencia Press LLC for my gifted copy!

The artistic illustrations are absolutely captivating and had me sunk in the entire time. The synopsis of this was magical and I really love the cover, of course. The storyline was good, I loved our main little mushroom named Gowlitrot and his frog Hopalong. The idea of them going on an adventure to protect the peace and natural balance was beautiful. The general arc was quite a bit confusing at times and that led to me not really understanding parts of the story.

Thank you Netgalley!

I wouldn’t necessarily think horror when reading this book. But it was honestly a thrill to the end with quite an open ending. I really liked the main character and the general plot of the story plus the fast paced movement. I think this is something to really sit for and you’ll be done before you know it. Fantastic representation as well.

Thank you NetGalley!

I really enjoyed the simplicity of this. I’m a big fan of lavender, in pretty much everything. I love it in drinks, scents, flower form. I really enjoyed the way the author brought that love out and showed us the tons of ways to incorporate it.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I think the flow of this story was beautifully captured and the words about embracing who you are and things that aren’t shiny and new. The writing was a little harsh at points probably due to it being translated from Dutch. But a great emotional read to teach children how to love everything.
