I wasn’t sure how I’d feel going into this book, based off the summary and what I had seen online. I’m not much of a fan when it comes to the MCs relationship and the toxicity involved. BUT I still couldn’t put this book down. Which definitely shows how interesting the authors writing is, even at the beginning of this one. If you’re looking for the angsty-est drama look no further because this one lays it on THICK. This is the 2nd book so a lot of things are happening and we’re exposed to all kinds of crazy. That ending being one of them omg. But give this a try! Its translation to English allows us to be introduced once again!

Thank you to the author and Bloom for my physical copy!

A marvelous yet mystical fairytale approach was absolutely stunning to see. I really loved reading these and in the most abstract of ways, they made sense. Sometimes a book like this is so beautiful and refreshing, story after story.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley!

I enjoyed the gruesome trail this story leaves us and I just know the colors have to be gorgeous to accommodate it. While I enjoyed its plot I think it was so fast paced that I would have loved to see a bit more world building around this interesting idea.

Thank you to NetGalley!

This read starstruck me in ways I don’t even understand. There’s a lot of generational grief underlying (barely, it’s very forefront if you look hard enough) that I do understand and a lot that I couldn’t possibly ever grasp. I think it was almost uncomfortable at times with how the illustrations depict the ever lasting loss. But beautiful in a sense that this is so realistic and broken. Something so many will connect with.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley!

This is such a helpful and non confusing way to help readers better understand Tarot and all it can do for you. I love the journey she takes us on and her beautiful interpretations. I think this is a fantastic addition to one’s bookshelf!

Thank you NetGalley!

This is my first book by the author and I was NOT expecting it to be so unputdownable. If I can use that type of word here. I thought this was the perfect little introduction into the world she’s creating for this new series. And keeping that in mind, there’s a lot of “info dump” here and it’s to be expected as it’s the first in the series.

So I could be picky and say the pacing is a tad laggy BUT I think meeting the main characters, Evelyn and Bowen, make it worth it. This fantasy also doesn’t just introduce us to gorgeous pirate vibes that you’d assume from the cover but WITCHES AND VAMPIRES TOO. It’s slow burn yet insta love while they figure out just exactly what they’re meant to be doing here. Plus the banter was gold.

Thank you to the author and Berkley for my free gifted copy!

If you’re on a journey to find that next epic fantasy adventure, look no further! This was a delight to read and so refreshingly done. I loved the twins, Ellie and Tom, their sibling banter and personalities. Now taking all that and adding in the little thriller aspect, IM SOLD. It ups the stakes just a little bit and it’s a perfect addition.

The authors writing is addictive and lush, creating an entire world at our disposal. I think this is the perfect next read for you!
