I really enjoyed the unique writing style and art throughout captured my attention with every turn!

The probability of this book being a real life scenario is probably what gives it most of the fright factor. I just recently watched a documentary about the permafrost melting and the things being unleashed. The idea of this book being, what if, something SOMEHOW even worse could be unleashed as well really sent it home. I enjoyed the frosty cold atmosphere and horrors below with the illegal mining. Give this one a try!!!

A unique yet timeless rendition of the myth and woven with complexity and clarity only Rachel Lyon could do. While knowing the very general plot from the same story we all know, this takes you on ride you’d never have guessed. It’s fresh, different, twisty, and fierce. I absolutely loved Cory and her mother Emer (and the lengths she goes to recover her lost daughter) billionaire islands have never sounded so fun yet daunting.

Thank you Scribner for my gifted copy!

Worry is abrasive yet soft, the exact feeling of having a sister. The secondhand embarrassment next yet not trivial in the slightest. It’s undeniable how realistic this depicts two girls, bonded forever by their childhood traumas and shared blood, traveling on their way in NYC. This one was really no plot only vibes and it absolutely delighted. It made me miss my sister yet reminisce about the times growing up where we bickered about absolutely everything and everyone. I loved it.

The writing of these books has been phenomenal the entire time. The author just seems to have a way with words. I think this sequel picked up and answered some questions I had from the first. I really enjoyed Lan’s development and Zen was the character you love to read about. The side characters are top tier, everything mashes together so well. The Chinese folklore and mythology is astoundingly beautiful and riveting, I love seeing them tie in.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and TBR and Beyond Tours
