A lot of great quotes and practical information in this little thing. I had a good time reading it and its length made it easy to pick up. Some advice-type books tend to be too information dense, and that can make it difficult to get through. That's not the case here, though, and I really appreciate that about Show Your Work.
Part of the reason I picked this up was because I was curious if it would mention posting anxiety, which it did, but only briefly. I think my 4 star rating has more to do with not having my expectations fully met rather than an actual indictment of the quality or content within it. Sharing parts of myself to others can be painfully difficult for me at times, so I was eager to see what he had to say about that. Turns out a book about networking and marketing yourself isn't the best place to go to learn how to overcome internal shame.. Who knew? 🤯
That, and the fact that I have some creative inclinations, but I haven't created much, and certainly am not ready to share my art. This book just isn't the most applicable to me right now, and that's fine. If you think you'll find it helpful, you almost definitely will.
I will have to say, I didn't necessarily agree with all of his advice, but as he stated at the end:

Some advice can be a vice. Feel free to take what you can use, and leave the rest. There are no rules.

The humor didn't always click with me, but there were some really touching moments and insightful takes on human nature. Overall I enjoyed. If I ever reread it I may give it a higher rating

It felt like it was too short to really go anywhere. I really enjoy Hinton's writing style so I had a good time reading this, but it could've had more meat to it. Didn't feel like a lot happened. It was more of a snapshot of this person's story than anything, and I think a longer story would've been justified here.
