This is a great southern gothic, but I just couldn't take it seriously whenever they brought up Ghostdaddy

Also the climax was pretty anticlimactic -- there was so much lead upto a big god-killing scene, and then Ghostdaddy just dies?

I think this book was too fucked up for me. I generally enjoyed it and Leede's dark humor, but also handful of scenes were a struggle to get through

This book was such a fun and imaginative fantasy adventure, I've never ready anything quite like it.

My only nitpick is that it uses the found family trope -- which I generally love -- but the whole thing takes place over ~24 hours, which just makes the bonds the characters forge feel a bit rushed

DID NOT FINISH: 40%

In a bit of a reading slump I guess.

This book is either super pretentious or way too smart for me, I'm not sure which. Maybe both?

Either way I'm not in the mood for it.
