This collection perfectly encapsulated the different stages of growing up as a woman with a backdrop of the Partition between India and Pakistan. Gill covered sexual assault, school bullies, the caste system, LGBTQ issues and prejudice against immigrants in the UK. It felt like a love story to university life and it made me so nostalgic. I felt the childlike innocence and the awkward teenage period and the section on her coming into her own skin as a woman was so comforting and the perfect conclusion to this story.

It’s a blithering book about affairs in the 70s and 80s. I got stuck in this book for two months and absolutely hated it. Could not bring myself to read it.

Also to start, wasn’t invested in the story for first 10% but then it hooked me and I feel in love with the cast and loved the character development of Delphie.

Cassie was very naive at the start, and I don’t normally enjoy reading books about people in their early 20s. I hated that she just accepted this Situationship with a guy in his mid to late 20s because she felt insecure about her disability. While I like her main love interest, it all felt a bit like insta love after a meet cute.

A really sweet story that develops the premise from the first novel into a neat duology. The big plot twist is quite easy to spot ahead of time, and the resolution was much more swift than expected, but I really enjoyed reading it.
