I’m not gonna write a long review because this is a graphic novel, but I didn’t like this at all besides the art. 5/5 star art. 1/5 star plot. Or what was the plot. I didn’t like these characters, and I found the summer drama to be super dumb, and I hated the friendship between Windy and Rose. Rose is an awful friend, and poor Windy was always trying to fit in with her. Just this whole plot was nonexistent and I found I wasted my time reading this. But again, 10/10 art if that’s what you read graphic novels for
(Originally gave 4 stars but lowers down to 2)
Trigger warnings - Suicidal thoughts, mentions of past suicide, mentions of suicide present, anxiety, depression,
I thought this book was close to fine, but not exactly their. I didn’t really like this book. Idk why I gave it such a high rating in the first place, but I think I felt pressured to like this. I probably didn’t because I didn’t like Eliza our main character. We’re supposed to sympathize with her character and feel something for her but all I felt was dislike.
Eliza is a shallow character, and it seems she’s always paranoid someone is out to get her. She keeps secrets from her boyfriend and best friends, and always says that her parents don’t understand her...yet she doesn’t tell them...anything? How the fuck are they supposed to know if you don’t tell them? They can’t read minds Eliza. Plus she claims that she doesn’t have any friends, but she goes through ZERO effort to make any. People are shitty, yeah, but try to make friends outside of school. Not everyone you meet is a shitty person, and it’s almost played out that way (basically so we’ll get ourselves to like Eliza).
Wallace is also a shallow asshole. I liked him in the first half, but his character arc definitely went down hill for me. For example: he knows Eliza is going through some shit (even though she brought it upon herself), and he demands Eliza finish her comic so that he can publish it under his name. Eliza refuses and he storms out on her, claiming he’ll never forgive her. WHAT A GREAT GUY.
The only redeeming thing was the fact that Eliza’s brothers were such good brothers. Even though Eliza is a shitty sister (who for some reason thinks that her 13 + 14 year old brothers are being mean to her by teasing) and shitty person, they’re still loyal to her, and are with her till the end. The anxiety and depression rep was good too (I have both so I guess I can say wether or not it’s good?).
Overall though I just really hated Eliza and Wallace. I wouldn’t recommend.

FIRST READ
I just don’t like SJM I think is what the problem for me is. I like her first books, and I like the way they seem to be going, but I hate her sequels. I hate how she can’t just stick with one love interest and let it be, and I hate she tries to make her love interests the bad guys.
In this book Feyre is dealing with PTSD, but then makes Tamlin out to be the bad guy when he goes through PTSD too. Yeah he needs help, but it’s almost like SJM thinks that because Tamlin did some shitty things, he’s ultimately the bad guy. And let me tell you, Feyre isn’t a saint either
And Feyre. Jesus fucking Feyre is the most annoying character, always being so self deprecating, and complaining about every little thing. SHUT THE FUCK UP JESUS. I could care less. And fucking Rhysand. Just because bad things happen to Rhysand he’s the good guy now, which means that because someone tried to force themselves on him, it’s ok that he was an asshole. That’s so hypocritical, basically going against Tamlin as a character.
I don’t sympathize with Rhysand or Tamlin, but just because Rhysand had some shit happen to him, doesn’t erase his past shit. And just because Tamlin did some shitty things, doesn’t mean he’s a terrible person.
Jesus SJM doesn’t know how to write mental illness and it SHOWS
I read [b: A Court of Thorns and Roses|16096824|A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1)|Sarah J. Maas|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1546406962l/16096824._SY75_.jpg|21905102] more than a year ago, and I just feel like I outgrew this series, and her books as a whole. I think a year or two ago I would have binged her books, but I just can’t get behind her as an author anymore. Sorry y’all

Past my two previous notions, I actually think I like Sarah Dessen. Guess it’s time to read all her books

This was a very cute middle grade graphic novel! As of late I’m just picking up any graphic novel that has sounded interesting, and have enjoyed most of them, and this is no exception. I really enjoyed this authors other book [b: The Prince and the Dressmaker|34506912|The Prince and the Dressmaker|Jen Wang|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1494400495l/34506912._SX50_.jpg|46116413] and I was super excited to try out her other stuff. This was very cute, and had a few important messages for younger readers, totally recommend

Read this in my 6th grade English class in one sitting and cried

I think a lot of people believe that 3 stars is a bad rating, but I don't. I think to me, it means the book was good while I read it, but it wasn't memorable. And that's really what this book is to me.
I enjoyed it. It probably would have been a 4 star but the last 100 pages were a but iffy for me.
I think one of my big issues with this was the more telling than showing. And when I tell you there was a lot of showing, I mean A LOT of showing. It was almost like I was reading a movie, because our main character Isabel was telling us what happened with her and Sasha. It felt like a movie, almost like a montage.
The relationship between Sasha and Isabel was pretty mature, and they fought and they grew from it and they worked out their issues. Isabel and Sasha both matured as characters so I enjoyed that.
I enjoyed the characters, the plot, and everything else, I just thought it was a fine book. Not something I'd reread, but it was fun while I reread it.

TRIGGER WARNINGS - SMOKING, MURDER, DEATH, BULLYING
This was good, but it wasn’t exceptional. I did really love the art style, and this was really really creepy at the end. I wasn’t expecting the twist that happened, and I was kinda freaked out cause I read this at 1 AM. Will say though that this isn’t really intended for younger kids. Maybe 13+ or 14+ I’d say.
