This book has me shook!
So the second book in the Percy Jackson series didn’t disappoint.
Annabeth and Percy are so fucking adorable. Like I’m so damn soft for them. The amount of cute moments and things that were so adorable that they shared in this book was kind of unbelievable. If they don’t get together by the end, I’m gonna scream.
The storyline was different, and while I saw some similarities between Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters, I think that Sea of Monsters was written and done a little better. But I will admit I liked book 1 just a little better.
Also the way Percy and Annabeth were low key like pirates was my absolute favorite thing, and will forever be in my heart.
AND THAT FUCKING ENDING THOUGH

OH MY GOD.
So this is my favorite book in the series so far. We follow Percy as he tries to save Annabeth, and I’m HERE for it.
Their are so many plot-twists and unexpected things in this book and it has me shook.
Plus Annabeth and Percy are so fucking adorable and Percy thinking about saving Annabeth the whole time has me in the FEELS.
The gods and goddess in this book was so hilarious. Their all plotting against each other, and talking LITERAL SHIT behind everyone’s backs and I really couldn’t stop laughing.
And A+ to Rick Riordan for adding in all the dad jokes. I was cracking up laughing.
I loved this book so much though, because it seemed more original, better written, more thawed out, and more YA(ish) than the other 2 books and it really made my enjoyment heightened for this series.
Really excited to continue on, and if Percy and Annabeth don’t kiss soon...I’M GOING TO STRANGLE SOMEONE!

OMFG! Wow what an epic book. So you know how I said ‘The Titan’s Curse’ is my favorite book in this series? I lied. This is!
First off, the epic action-packed scenes are AMAZING! And whilst I’m talking about this, can we talk about how much Riordan’s writing has improved over the years of writing these books?! This book was so well written, and Percy’s POV just keeps getting better.
Next, the characters in these books ARE EVERYTHING. I love them with my whole entire heart and soul. Annabeth Chase, I’m a lesbian for her, can we get married? She’s so fucking adorable, yet so sarcastic and amazing and I WANT MY OWN ANNABETH. Grover Underwood also has my heart! He’s the most adorable, and vulnerable yet badass character I’ve ever read about. And Tyson makes me heart literally heart and my eyes well up. And can we talk about Percy Jackson my child, my baby, my everything? He’s just so adorable, and so fucking oblivious and I can’t handle it. Plus he has the right amount of badassery and I’m HERE for it. Also I really enjoyed Rachel although we didn’t get much about her. AND NICO AHHH!
And Percy and Annabeth are EVERYTHING. I CRIED during their time in the mountains (if you know what I mean) and ugh then they ignore it! PERCY IS SO OBLIVIOUS AND I CAN’T TAKE IT!
Plus the freaking character development is GOLD! Nico develops, Percy develops, Annabeth, Tyson, Grover And basically everyone develops and makes me so freaking happy.
I’m also very happy Sally found someone new even though her and Poseidon aren’t a thing anymore! SHE

3rd read - July 7th 2023 - July 11th 2023 (physical and audio)
This is one of my favorite books of all time. I don’t really put that lightly when I talk about books. I’ve probably read around 400 books in the last 5 years, and not many of those books have stuck with me as often as this one. Everything about this story makes it be one of my favorites. The unique world, the characters, especially Jude herself, the growth of Jude throughout the story, the banter and relationship between Jude and Cardan, the found family aspects, the crazy ass plot twists at the end. I will never ever get tired of this story.
But since I’ve said all of that below, I guess I don’t really need to say anymore. The only things different this 3rd read was that I absolutely hate you know who even more this time around, and my sister hated them both probably more than me, which was absolutely hilarious to hear her scream at them. Speaking of my sister, this was her first time read of this book. We buddy read this together (after me completely terrorizing her about not reading this for about 4 years), who is now absolutely obsessed now with this world and these characters. She said if she had Goodreads she would give this book a 4.5 out of 5.
So anyways, I guess that’s all the new things I have to say about this book this time around. Regardless, I just adore this story so much. I really think Jude and Cardan were one of the main book couples and characters that completely cemented my love for reading, and I will forever be grateful for this story. Overall, still 5/5 stars and I’m really excited to give The Wicked King a reread bc it’s literally been forever since I read that book.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! I love it more than the first time, and I love the characters, the writing, the twists and turns, and the magic system.
This was such a pleasant reread, and I loved this audiobook too! I flew through this within at least 4 hours, and I can honestly say, this series is in my top 5 favorites of all time

I loved this book.
It was everything I wanted in a fantasy and more.
I love Holly Black’s writing. I love the way she writes her characters. Yes while her faeries are mean, evil, and cruel it adds to the story and plot. Her characters make the story better and they add to everything.
Her writing is also fantastic. The way she writes emotions in her characters, the way she writes climaxes and transitions, thoughts, and character traits is astonishing to me.
She’s such an amazing writer.
I also love the world, character development, world building, and plot twists.
The world was so complex yet Holly Black made it so easy to understand. Holly Black can also DEVELOP characters.
For example, at the beginning Jude (our main character) was in a way naive. Sure she’s gone through some shit in her life, but she took everything the faeries gave her without complaint. But soon Jude realized that she didn’t want to spend her whole entire life like that, and she fought back and basically became a badass.
We also have great world building (as good as she develops her characters).
And her plot twists. Can we fucking TALK ABOUT HER PLOT TWISTS. HOLLY BLACK CAN WRITE A FUCKING PLOT TWIST. Towards the end when the plot twist was coming, I didn’t expect it AT ALL. When we were revealed the plot twist I stopped reading, looked up, and gasped then reread what I needed to, to make sure I read it right. OMG her plot twists were amazing and I didn’t see any of them coming AT ALL.
So in conclusion I think it’s safe to say this book was ABSOLUTELY, FUCKING AMAZING. Holly Black please keep up what your doing because!

This book was so good. Like it had made me feel things I don’t really feel when I read books or even sequels for that matter.
Holly Black is such a good writer. She can write so good and I can imagine everything she writes so vividly. Her world building is phenomenal! We got even more world building (or added on world building) than we did in the Cruel Prince. And she can make evil characters. If Holly Black wants us to feel like her characters are evil, she can make us feel that. I also feel like the character development in this book was so absolutely amazing.
The sexual tension between Cardan and Jude is so real. I can feel it, almost like energy through the pages of my book. The scenes of Jude and Cardan kissing in this book are so god damn hot and sexy too. The amount of tension and sexiness in this book is real. And it’s even more hot because they both have an equal amount of authority and power.
The amount of plot twists and turns in this book is so shocking. Going back to how Black can write, this is a big strong suit of hers. Holly Black can write a fucking plot twist so well. You would never even be able to see it up close until your right by it and your thinking ‘how could I have not seen this coming?! I’m so stupid’. But in all honesty you really can’t see it coming. It just whips out of nowhere and your so shocked you have to put the book down for a few minutes and reread the page a few more times before it finally processes in your head.
Can we talk about how much I love Jude?! Jude is so strong, she’s caring, she’s smart, and she’s such a badass. Jude Duarte might just be one of my all time favorite main characters and female MCs because of all of this and so much more. Like she’s such an enjoyable character to read about.
I also love Cardan Greenbiar. He’s literally what I think is so sexy. Cardan is evil, hot, smart, and again he’s a badass too. He also becomes more caring towards the end as well. He’s probably my favorite ‘villain’ character I’ve ever read about and my one of my favorite male MCs because of all of this.
I do have something to complain about though. The pacing for the first 100-150 pages is so bad. It’s literally so slow and that’s why I’ve been reading it for 7+ days. Normally a book like this takes me 1-2 days MAX. So I was a bit surprised when I kept procrastinating this book and putting off reading it. And it was all because of the pacing. Now while it did pick up towards the end, I still really thought the pacing was pretty bad within the beginning and early middle.
But those are my thoughts. I would give this book 5 stars if the pacing was better in the beginning, but otherwise this is one of my favorite sequels of all time. Ok thank you ✌

So I’m trash and have waited 2 months to do a review on this book. Also this book is like a 4 star, but I’m to trash to give it 4 stars so instead it’s getting 5. Deal with it
