This show is HILARIOUS! Also extremely relevant of the time we’re in. A farce about the US government and the women who help keep POTUS alive. A well-needed laugh.

MY HEART!! 🥹

This story does a beautiful job with centering the queer experience and queer joy. While the story is set in the fictional world of “New Earth” years in the future, it is still grounded in a way that makes the story incredibly relatable. An overall heartwarming story! This is a great book for any kids who are exploring their identities and seeing themselves in characters their age. It’s also so nice getting to see so much POC queer representation.

I also absolutely adore the art style.

So, just to preface, I actually haven’t read or seen the original play as of writing this. 😅 I was at a play reading night a couple days ago, and this happened to be what was chosen, so I only had what I was told to me of the original play right before reading this.

My biggest thing initially was the writing feeling a bit “preachy” (best way I can describe it),
tons of conversations led by Nora about marriage versus love and how marriage is useless
which I wasn’t a huge fan of. BUT, I later felt that it was an intentional set-up for conversations later in the play
especially with Emmy and Torvald and their differing options compared to Nora’s
. I would say I was more invested with the story once it got about halfway through the play.

Was this my favorite? No. Did it have some solid moments? Yes. Can I understand why people like it? Yes. Will I now go and read the original? Absolutely.

Extremely immersive play, focused primarily on the relationships between the characters. I would love to see this production live at some point.

I’ve seen a couple of the scenes from Proof done previously, but hadn’t actually read/seen the whole show. I now understand the hype. Also love a play with deep, complicated characters and relationships.

Overall, a solid play with well-written characters dynamics. The banter style took some getting used to, especially for that first scene. But there’s some really funny moments while also exploring harsh and painful circumstances.

Intense but good! The relationship between “Him” and “Her” is the focus of the play, and I think very well developed. They are flawed and complex, and it’s interesting to watch their momentum evolve around each other (very push & pull). For those looking for a solid 2-person play that’s intent on exploring character relations, this is a good show to look at.

One of the BEST books I’ve read about becoming a working actor and getting started. It was very reassuring hearing advice that I’ve been given in the past and going into more detail about it. And that’s not to say that there aren’t new lessons and advice that I will be sitting with going forward. Will definitely be referring to this book repeatedly going forward.
