Thank you @prhaudio for ALC of The Invited. I always love a suspenseful story set at a wedding. I love the how the story unfolded in looking for the missing bride and past POV before the wedding and is told in Amaya and Kaavi's POV. The book talks about privileged versus the have nots in Sri Lanka. I liked how the story unfolded and you never really knew who was the villain. The narrator did a great job and kept me entertained.

Thank you @berkleyromance @prhaudio for a copy of Lucy on the Wild Side. This was a fun enemies to lovers, work Place romance. Lucy is extremely devoted to the zoo and her love of gorillas. I don't know how many times the author talked about her obsession with Kai's mom who wrote a book about gorillas and it got to be a bit much. I enjoyed seeing Lucy's growth in the story and the romance development. The subplot with both Lucy and Kai's issues with their mother added a deeper element to the book. Overall, a fun enjoyable read.

The narrator did a great job with Lucy and expressed her love for gorillas.

Great start to the story with meeting at a sex party then meeting up her new boss. I enjoyed the email snafu and how this for them chatting. I thought the spying part was sort of weak in the story and a bit unnecessary. Overall a fun read.

When I started this book, I was a little lost because I thought the time line progression would be linear from the first book. This goes back to Andrea's start of her career. The book is told in 2 timelines and really centers on Emily's death. The story started strong and drag a bit in the middle. The last 15% of the book was intense and totally redeemed the book.

Thank you @bibliolifestyle and @williammorrowbooks for a copy of the book.

This series is so fun! I love all the adorable puppies and Max sounds like such a handful and lots of funny moments with Max. I love the opposite attract with fake dating between Deenie and Connor. I love seeing the friendships between the supporting characters as well.

A great small town second chance romance. I enjoyed the dual POV between Nessa and Desmond. For a short story, there was a lot going on with health issues of a friend and family expectations. I enjoyed this one.

Thank you the publisher for a copy of the book.

The Make-Up Test

DID NOT FINISH: 70%

DNF at 70%. The story was very slow and the interaction between Collin and Allison was boring. There wasn't enough supporting characters to add depth to the story.

Thank you the publisher for ALC.

I am in the minority in not loving this book. I found the 2 main characters way to immature and petty to continue. When Joelle purposely messes a bookclub order to sabotage Max, I was done. How can someone purposely be so spiteful to hurt someone's livelihood. I also didn't care how they were attracted to each other and turned and became so mean so quickly.

Thank you @berkleyromance @prhaudio for a copy of ARC and ALC.

I love the premise of this book, a divorce attorney that starts marrying people. I feel like RJ was the perfect divorce attorney and it does seems out of character to marry people since she is shying away from love. Lear is such a charming man and their chemistry is off the charts with their FWB arrangement. I enjojes the banter with this enemies to lovers romance. I also enjoyed seeing RJ's friends appear in this book. I adored Britta and Wes in The Fastest Way to Fail.

I listened to the audio and there was a part that made me cringe. It was a scene where both RJ and Lear are getting a pedicure and the narrator seems to be making an attempt at an Asian accent. So much stereotyping and it really threw me off.

Thank you @berkleyromance @prhaudio for a ALC and ARC.

A fun idea with Freya as a doppelgänger to a celebrity and being a decoy so Mindi can go on a vacation. I really liked how both Freya and Taft had  insecurities about their careers and helped each other. I wanted to see more development of their relationship, it feels more lust driven though it's a slow burn. I can see this decoy girlfriend working from a distance but the idea that she fake friends and agents seems very unlikely. Despite this, it was entertaining.
