Thank you to Atria Books and Steve Cavanagh for an e-arc of this book! This was such an interesting story, especially considering that this mystery starts out with only two potential murderers and has to keep the suspense from there. I became invested quickly, especially with the several perspectives on this legal thriller — including both defense counselors and the murderer. I thought it was really smart to title the murderer’s chapters “She” to keep greater anonymity and suspense. I loved how intricate the story was and I was kept guessing until the end! This is perfect for fans of the Lincoln Lawyer and Suits!! 4.25 🌟

Thank you to Knopf Books for Young Readers and Elizabeth Lim for the e-arc of this book! As a massive fan of the Six Crimson Cranes duology, I could not believe I was granted an opportunity to read this before publication day! It delivered everything I needed and more. It swept me off my feet into A’landi and the underwater kingdom of Ailong, with brilliant side characters and gorgeous descriptions. The whole book; the characters, the settings, the foods, felt tangible from the beginning. Breathtakingly romantic with such a strong journey, A Forgery of Fate is a must read!!!

Thank you to Kodansha for the e-arc of this manga! This story broke my heart and intrigued me. Misato-chan deserves better, and I look forward to seeing her journey to happiness and success (hopefully). Please look up triggers before reading this manga. 4 🌟

Thank you to Afterglow Books and Karen Booth for the e-arc of this book! I loved it, from start to finish. It felt like Karen Booth looked into my psyche while writing Mia’s character (and we share a name too!). She started out nervous, unsure, and full of self-doubt, and became so confident and even stronger by the end. Xander was so giving, thoughtful, and perfect for Mia. Their journey together was beautiful, and I loved how they grew as people together. Also, Xander’s siblings were so fun!! I LOVE Freya and her impish nature. Overall, a solid intro to formula one romances and a great summer read.

Thank you to G.P. Putnam’s Sons and Annabel Monaghan for the e-arc of this book! Set in Long Island and LA, the story follows two reluctant people working together to get a script they love turned into a movie. I really enjoyed this book, and it was a great introduction to Annabel Monaghan’s oeuvre. I related to some of Jane’s (the fmc) tendencies — especially those to overthink and people-please. I like how Dan (the mmc) was so honest, and became even more vulnerable over time. His family was boisterous and lovable, their energy infectious through the pages, with each character providing something to the story — from baby Katie to Cormack (Dad). An inviting atmosphere and a compelling story makes for a solid beach read. I highly recommend this book to those who like character growth, banter, and unexpected feelings. 4.25 🌟

Thank you to Berkley and Jane L. Rosen for the e-arc of this book! This was such an enjoyable, atmospheric read. I felt transported to the beach, and the events of this summer wedding week. A mix between a family saga and a romance, it feels perfect for warm weather (with Elin Hilderbrand vibes!!). Even though this was the third book in a series, I had no problems understanding the plot and the characters. Honestly, I wish Fire Island were a real place I could visit!! 4 🌟
