Set in Long Island and LA, the story follows two reluctant people working together to get a script they love turned into a movie. I really enjoyed this book, and it was a great introduction to Annabel Monaghan’s oeuvre. I related to some of Jane’s (the fmc) tendencies — especially those to overthink and people-please. I like how Dan (the mmc) was so honest, and became even more vulnerable over time. His family was boisterous and lovable, their energy infectious through the pages, with each character providing something to the story — from baby Katie to Cormack (Dad). An inviting atmosphere and a compelling story makes for a solid beach read. I highly recommend this book to those who like character growth, banter, and unexpected feelings. 4.25 🌟
