It’s 1999, there’s a leak in the medical examiner’s office because they lock passwords in a filing cabinet. Someone impersonates Dr Scarpetta in chat rooms, but her coworker didn’t know about it because he doesn’t have AOL at home.

I was hoping it would add to the events of book 1, which I loved, to see Taryn & Locke’s perspective. But Taryn sucks.

The plot was good, but the pacing and characters’ personalities did not work for me.

So good! action packed, all the best romantasy tropes, world building that’s not a bore. 🐉

Corny at times, but cute and the ending was good.

Overall miserable and predictable. Very feel redeeming moments.

Practical Magic vibes, a tale of 4 generations impacted by a curse.
A little bit long and too much from the past to keep track of at times, but an entertaining journey.
