Twists on twists on twists. Did we need a couple of them? No, probably not. Do we have to suspend disbelief in a few key places? Absolutely. But it was incredibly fun to untangle the mystery.

This book takes the real crisis of missing & exploited indigenous girls & women, and infuses with traditional teachings & horror elements. The MC, Anna is tenacious and relatable as she tries to unravel what happened to her sister. Tense & well written. 

Hilarious. 

An action packed story about The Everglades Melon Monster, reality TV, social media, lost treasure, Rednecks,  the Russian Mob, bad relationships, the decline of journalism & more. 

 

A few of the side plots weren’t as fleshed out, but it was very amusing. 

The emotion, the action, the character development was all on point. I could not put it down. Read it in a day. 

Real good. Told in a nonlinear way, I enjoyed the reveals as Kya’s story unfolded. 

Drawing from the author’s heritage, mixing Thai mythology & tales w/usual urban fantasy beings. 

 

Punch, a kinnaree, puts on shoes that can compel the wearer to dance to death. She’s approached by 2 vampires who are tracking the artifact, each for different purposes. 

 

This romantasy comes together a bit to quickly. Not often would I say that we need more filler &drama, but it works out a bit too neatly. But I would read more of this world.
