the first 100 pages made me contemplate DNFing- I couldn’t keep track of where we were going, who we were going with & if we liked eachother. But it picked up, it was kind of fun but doesn’t compare to the core Crowns of Nyaxia series. I do commend Broadbent on telling stories from this world from different angles & expansive worldbuilding

This was heavier on the historical drama vs horror than I realized it would be but I was engrossed by all aspects of this story & desperate to find out what would happen next.

Cute story! More about Princess Rinetta than Lando, but not bad for a middle grade filler episode.

I enjoyed this. I’m through Saint’s retellings now & I have found that she has a good tone in her writing for all of them however then it is dependent on how much I connected with the myths themselves. Ariadne’s story told from the perspective of Ariadne & Phaedra was very intriguing from start to finish. 

Good but not great. The set up is so weird, not 100% it even makes sense. Some characters were nearly interchangeable not stand out archetypes like the original cast. And the villains themselves were good but the villain POV was a waste. But Blake does a great job with the banter from the OG characters, I love the nostalgia of it, and the new scoobies are left with quite a mystery so I’ll likely continue. 

The worldbuilding was so strange. But it was fun, the ending was hilarious 

So this is a really specific time in my life where a thriller involving the diabolical world of momfluencers would really get me riled up. But even without that, it still would have been good.

The premise is interesting & I love a mashup of pantheons & adding the Norse gods was a big selling point …but there’s just something that’s keeping me from really connecting with the characters. Emotions seem nonsensical. I do not feel anything for the romance aspect. I don’t know. I’ll probably be curious enough to continue the series but I can’t give it a glowing recommendation either.

I liked this! I liked the selected vampire lore -how the blood impacted vampires and humans was really neat (reminded me of Only a Monster by Vanessa Len a bit but made more sense) good plot/characters (wasn’t too out of the box but was fun) & good worldbuilding with a heavy influence from Mexican culture & folklore.

Honestly a lot of these reviews are annoying. Don’t read YA if you don’t like it lmao 

Came for the wrestling subplot; stayed for the found family vibes
