A really good optimistic place to leave the series for now.

With the series St Clair did really well with incorporating the source material, making it modern & adding so much spice without being (too) redundant. But if you are going to give a villain POV.. IMO there should be something that you aren’t getting from the protags-the other side of the story. Theseus POV was just miserable to read, & we already knew he was awful

I don’t want a rapist POV

it just killed the vibe & did not add anything unknown, no secret motivation etc.
Ultimately I did like the growth of Hades & Persephone as a couple & how they faced the battle with their friends by their sides.

But Seph cried for 1/2 the book, I get emotions running high but it was ALOT

Creepy, but overly long at parts.

I’ve only read a few Nora Roberts, but I noticed the was real similar to The Obsession thematically & with how the FMC & love interest interact. There are enough differences but I can see the formula, but she writes 4 books a year I would imagine it would be impossible not to. 

Anyway, home improvement inspo, traumatized but coping FMC, lovable side characters & found family are met by Vermont mountains, the FBI & drink recipes you can almost taste

Can’t decide if O enjoyed or frustrated by the things that are left up to interpretation. But the power balance in the relationship between Maxim & the narrator is portrayed in a very insightful manner. 

Highly bingeable domestic thriller/drama. I found the portayal of mental illness to be very well done in this book. 
At times every character in the 2 couples made me bonkers. Just the actions and reactions were… something. 

At the end I thought Pippa got away with not taking any responsibility for her role and the way she wrote off Gabe while talking to Max was… something “oh he’s too far gone then”, after the emotional & practical support he gave her seemed pretty ugly.  

Historical fantasy taking place during the Spanish Inquisition, Luzia’s heritage makes her as much of a target as her Magic. When she is discovered some find an opportunity to exploit her, while others support her. Religious persecution, classism &sexism influence their responses as they dream of a change of fortune. 

I liked this a lot! It is a bit of a slow pace at the start, but very good.

The  POV characters are deep & nuanced. Their circumstances made endearing & complicated. It was unique, poignant, heartfelt & at times absolutely hilarious.

As a whole it is good, exposing the heinous crimes against the Osage, the men who searched for justice. Note about the audio: it is split into 3 parts w/ 3 narrators, the first of which was a bit kindergarten teacher, & did not feel like it fit.
