I freaking loved this!!!

I've already established that if Katee Robert writes it, I'm going to read it. This book was just such a delight.

Great and imaginative spice (as per the usual with Katee Robert) and a surprisingly sweet story that just made my heart all ooey gooey.

Also, we have to acknowledge that this cover is a flipping masterpiece and I cannot wait to have a physical copy on my shelf. (I fully anticipate owning every book in this series).

Wow! This was a total departure from the typical alien romances that I read. It felt so unique to the genre and I really enjoyed it.

This is a DARK, gritty, dystopian story. Violent and very graphic- but omg it is GRIPPING.

Earth has fallen to an invading alien species and people are left to roam the ravaged wastelands that are left behind.

Abel has been fighting her whole life- against the alien Others and the monsters that make up what is left of humanity. Her entire belief system is thrown into question when she saves the life of an Other and their lives become inexplicably intertwined.

TW- graphic violence, torture, mentions of SA

So Katee Robert can do no wrong. If she writes it, I'm going to read it- no preexisting knowledge needed.

Case in point, THIS book! I didn't know this was a marriage of convenience story?!!!!  (It literally says that in the description though, so that's on me.) But what a happy surprise for me when I finally realized that 😆❤️

Anyways. I loved this. Eros and Psyche are so sweet and compliment each other so well.

This Dark Olympus series is so much fun. I know the next book is about Helen but I cannot WAIT for Callisto's book.

This little novella was just so magical and lush 💚

I didn't want it to end but it was still just the right amount of story.

This series has me in a chokehold ❤️

I loved this one! This book had the Captor/Captive dynamic with ALL of the enemies to lovers vibes (which are my favorite vibes.)

BUT I DIDN'T KNOW IT WASN'T OVER YET 😭 I thought this was a complete series but obviously it is not and now I have to wait for this mysterious new Vorakkar's story?? 😭😭

Also I would just like a scene with all of the morakkari's together and bonding over their big alpha teddy bears, please and thank you.

Oh man! These just get better and better. I do not typically go for the childhood friends to lovers trope but this had such a great flow of childhood friends to strangers to  reluctantly reunited and i'm going to make you fall back in love with me if it's the last thing I do vibes.

Maeva was found abandoned as a baby. She is the only human growing up in a Dakkari village. Bullied for her strangeness, feeling like an outcast, she finds friendship with the young prince, Kiran. Growing up together, she's loved him for as long as she can remember. On the eve of him setting out to begin his own Horde, she declares herself to him and he publicly rejects her, leaving without a goodbye. 9 years pass - Maeva has hardened her heart to love and moved on with her life. Until he returns. Kiran is hell bent on proving to Maeva that she belongs with him despite her vowing to never let herself love him again.

Maeva and Kiran are absolutely perfect. I love their history - it makes for such great tension and chemistry throughout the story. There is a lot of hurt and misunderstanding between them and it is so sweet seeing them rebuild their relationship.

Also, I love the overarching storyline throughout all of these books. Lots of action. Very mysterious. I can't wait to read the final book!

Vienne: Timid and fearful of the Dakkari but enslaved by the Ghertun, she is sent to deliver a message to the King of Dakkar. Vienne has her own unique gift however and captures the attention of the Mad Horde King while she is there.

Davik: Has a terrifying reputation among the hordes as the “Mad Horde King”. Ruthless, brutal, crazy. But ACTUALLY!! He is kind and compassionate and his horde loves and respects him. He has a very dark past and has convinced himself that he is incapable of love and does not deserve to have a wife.

UGH these two. They are literally magic. I love how Davik helps Vienne find her courage and how she, in turn, helps his realize he is capable and deserving of love. They are both so damaged but bring out the best in each other.  Very angsty but very sweet. ❤️

TW – mentions of past SA, death of family members

SPOILER: My one gripe: Did not understand Vienne’s decision to keep the poison a secret from Davik. (I mean, I get it, it’s for the drama but damn... imagine the time we’d save.)
