I guess this means I’m mainstream but I loved this book, i don’t usually read mysteries but this kept me guessing until the very end and had me shocked a bunch. The ending is just great and wholesome and it makes me afraid for the sequels that are supposed to be dark. Sometimes Pip acted a bit stupid but I guess that’s part of being a teenager. The author fr knows how to make a story believable and real feeling❤️❤️
SPOILER ig but then again better be spoiled before you waste your time reading this
I hate this book so much and I do not recommend it to anyone, i started it for school and just finished it after procrastinating for months, it’s way too long thinks that it’s doing something, has the worst ending ever, doesn’t even have a satisfying conclusion to her murder and the fact that this was one of the choices we had for “ classics “ to read annoys me so much, i wish I chose to read Dracula instead. I can deal with violence, ad writing, murder, annoying characters etc etc as long as it’s entertaining I’ll be fine but this book didn’t even manage to do that I literally cannot even say how mad i am that I wasted multiple hours on this. This book just did not have to be like this (really icky) either because I would have been fine if it was just graphically violent but no it shows how the 14 something girl gets r*pd and its described , any discription would be too much because I don’t think it’s ever necessary to show in detail but THE AUTHOR GOES IN DETAIL??!! Plus the dead girl also watches as her sister loses her virginity and “ feels the kisses” on her mothers skin while the mother makes out with her side hoe. No problem with her cheating on her husband that’s fine for me but WHY DOES THE GIRL WANT TO EXPERIENCE THAT?? IT IS SO WEIRD PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS

I read a really good review on this and I think it really expressed what I felt. I don’t think this book is particularly bad but it is apparently extremely weirdly interpreted by people who view it as purely a romance ..and I enjoyed reading it because it made me emotional and got me out of my reading slump but I think it gets misinterpreted a lot. When I say I liked it I DO NOT MEAN I LIKE Rdude( forgot his name already because I hate him)HE SUCKS AND HE CAN GO TO HELL!! Im upset that she named the baby after his dead brother and gave him the ability to even spend time with her . Im upset that he got custody and horrified that people FEEL BAD FOR HIM?!?!? I am in no way on their side. Also from the beginning I felt icky about Atlas because he was 18 when she was 15 ew . Never liked that or the Ellen degenerate diaries etc cringy stuff. I liked the book because I got invested but I never thought people were talking about it like it’s a love triangle when I thought that it’s clearly a sad story about abuse and I get why it would have an age restriction going on because a little reading between the lines is necessary. What I’ve read about Colleen Hoovers other books make me not want to read them ever and I don’t think I will change my mind on that because she seems to write toxic characters even when they’re not supposed to be and I don’t like the impression I have of her.
