I cannot recommend this. Or can I? This actually happened to a buddy of mine haha yeah my buddy I swear. This story, told here almost like a conga line of vignettes of dripping, crass perversity, has still always struck me as genuine exploration. It's sometimes obnoxiously lofty, yet still creates this stroll through the foggier corners of sexuality in our mechanized world. Sex as movement and repeated collisions. What remains of you after a wreck is still provocative, but never what you once were. No two windows shatter the same way and no two hulls crumple, are reborn, into the same shape. It feels like a cat's cradle being configured in a few sad, beautiful ways before being left again to be twine.

You'll most likely enjoy this more than I have. I had forgotten that you can't go two pages in Saga without being forced to see characters piss, be exaggeratedly potty-mouthed, and scratch their nuts mid-conversation. It increasingly feels intentional in its attention-seeking and detracting from what I remember liking about this series - something that frequently bucks me off the seat and makes me roll my eyes. Also, it may be because it's been fifty years since they released the last issue, but every character has the exact same voice to me.

Pre-Ghibli manga based on the Tibetan folk tale "The Prince Who Turned into a Dog." Filled with this sort of horrid grimness but still has an uplifting ending. You can see how major visual and thematic elements from this splinter off and find their way into works like Nausicaä and Mononoke.

Every character is drawn so hot. Thank you Jim Lee

I love Gaby.

Flavors of The Twilight Zone? In MY airport checkout stand book?

I have a horrid whirlwind of resurfaced thoughts about the region but I'll bottle that energy. This isn't a one-stop-shop for the Palestinian genocide, so if you're interested in educating yourself about the issue, I'd say start elsewhere. If you're at all familiar with the history of the region, key actors in that political stage, and these two figures Chomsky and Pappé, then this is a quick, good read. These recorded conversations will only compliment those ideas you may already align with, as does a majority of this world. Fuck Zionism from any religious costume, fuck AIPAC, fuck Netanyahu and the country's insipid brainwashing and dehumanization campaign. Also, happy birthday Noam Chomsky.
