Too many POVs for audiobook format
Too hard to keep track of the storyline as an audiobook
Reading it as an audiobook may have not been the best choice. There are a lot of different characters and it’s difficult to keep track of it all. It was also only one voice actor for so many characters with so many different accents. It was rough.
Plot didn’t capture my attention unfortunately
Read it as an audiobook and I couldn’t keep track of all the different POVs.
I really wanted to love this book. I loved how the novel was inspired by the Bolivarian revolution and so much Lore was built around Venezuelan culture. It’s representation you don’t typically see in fantasy novels. However, the writing was really tough. I struggled to understand the different characters and their motives. I couldn’t distinguish their connections and relations to one anther. I also struggled with the pacing. I made it halfway through the book I was really hoping it would pick up and who knows maybe it does. Maybe I’ll pick it up again when I have more time.
