Meh. I didn't like any of the characters.

Read this after seeing Stillman's version. Good writing, which Stillman takes verbatim for his movie. Austen didn't really finish this novel, there is a conclusion but leaves the reader wanting but then again how do you end a novel of letters where none of characters get what they want without dying?

Really good, but it hit little close to the vest: Midwest, religion, faith and the church.

I think this is a book you need to read it at the right time in your life, while I did gleam a few bits, the rest of the book I couldn't relate or couldn't get into. I do recommend everyone to read it.

I needed something was that wasn't media.

I read it in 2.5 hours. It was one of the better Scots romance novels I have read that didn't use Scottish brogue for the entire story. I can handle a few choice words throughout the novel.
