I really enjoyed this novel, and I think partly because I read "The Casual Vacancy" by JK Rowling, right before this one. The stories are similar about dysfunctional families, personal issues, teenage angst, love and betrayal. This was was easier to read but just as heart-breaking. Haddon is one of the best when it comes to creating characters that you instantly relate too or you know someone who is like a certain character. I thought it was good. I have read TCIOFDITNT, but I do not remember enough to compare it too. I thought this was a good read.
