It is not what you expect and for myself, I liked the book very much. It is more textbook meets history book on some of the greatest wits throughout modern history. It also breaks down how to be witty (sorry to say, either you have it or you don't), but it fun to see what famous wits would do on downtime so that they could be witty the next time in public. Lot's of quotes and quips. Few moments that felt halted the books usually quick pace.
I borrowed this book from the library, but when I find it at a reasonable price, I would like to have it for just the quotes because most of them are from people I really like.

Quick read when I was able to sit down and read this book. I read it in about three sittings. I really liked the book but there were a few parts I felt rushed and needed a little bit more writing to flesh them out more. Overall, a fun read.

I really liked this book. I am surprised that it has taken this long to create a book from surveys and interviews of mostly unknown women. There are a few well-known-ish women included but mostly because of their style and not what they do. I thought it was interesting to read the responses to particular questions from the survey and read what women wrote.
I can't really do this book justice in a reivew but it worth buying or checking out the book from a library. I don't think an e-book version would do it justice.
