I think that the chapters based on objects on Austen's life as a jumping off point were okay. The writing, I felt, wasn't smooth and felt forced to get the writer to do what the chapters were meant to be. I also was getting confused between Austen's actual family versus books because she used names and life experiences in her work.
Not what I expected. It was okay. The notes on the dresses were redundant after a few dresses. An obvious mistake in the edition I borrowed from the library: duplicate notes on a page. It felt like a PowerPoint lecture in book form.
Cinderella meets a bit of Taming of the Shrew with a hint of Jane Austen.
I had to keep reminding myself that this was a pamphlet and researched before all the researched about this came afterward - this small tome started the study serious studies of witches and women in the medical profession. I didn't learn anything new, and some of the sources proven false, which the authors admit in the new preface.
Okay but dated.

Groundbreaking when it came out, roughly 50 years later it is a great primer to the thoughts of the Second Wave of Feminism. Dated and some of her presumptions were proven right.
