What started out as a very strong, terrifying, creep-tastic book, ended with me just wanting it to be over. The beginning of the book is well plotted and it is able to keep your interest throughout. However, just after the halfway mark there were many instances where the author would fake you out on what was happening or drag out events multiple times. I did enjoy the plots of the secondary characters, but many of these began repetitive and ineffective as the book continued.

I would still recommend that people give this a read, as it is very enjoyable for the majority of the book. I would describe the overall book to be some sort of cross between Stephen King’s It and Stranger Things.
