My god, this explains why old timers from America and western Europe are so entitled and obnoxious. Life was so fucking easy for them when THEY were young! My generation, we're fighting for our lives! This lighthearted romp of a memoir was definitely a hard read for me. I'm kind of depressed now. Why do I have to be young and hot in an era and a country where I can't do anything?

I wish we had a completed and properly edited novel instead of a manuscript. Still really funny.

Juvenile, dogshit, wow. If this wasn't written in a major language nobody would remember it today.

Kind of racist. Also the teenage characters talk like 30 yos with liberal arts degrees. And why are American authors so down bad for NYC jesus christ

A weak work, filled with misquotes, second- and third-hand citations, and quotes taken out of context.

Had all the information I needed and couldn't find anywhere else. Solid and reliable source for anybody researching the life and rule of Macbethad mac Findláech as well as the origins of all the myths and untruths surrounding this historical figure.

Isherwood writes with that dry and perceptive wit that British authors so excel at, and his keen eye for human foibles and neuroses is propped up by descriptive language of a truly cinematic vividness. A fatalist fondness permeates these vignettes, bringing to life a colorful cast of philosophical Jews, scandalous club singers and threadbare gigolos.
