I’m not sure how to rate this book yet. This story needed an editor or just better writing. It felt very much like a draft, the transitions and dialogue were didn’t flow. And this is not due to the author being British (at least I’m assuming based off some of the phrases in the book). The flow is off and I often wondered if I skipped something but I didn’t it just didn’t flow. I was looking forward to reading this book but it feel flat.
This story was so good! I really loved the relationship between Seven and Gael - watching how they bonded and relationship shifted. Ahead is about Gael I l always love when therapy is used in books and that Gael attended and you can see his growth as a result. . I felt some of the relationship dynamics were more organic than others. I like Kenji but really loved the relationship between Seven and Gael. Tryp and Kass stole my heart with their effective communication, security in themselves and within their relationship was beautiful to see.
Typically, I’m not fond of one of the tropes heresurprise accidental pregnancy trope but it was done well here I was hoping the baby was Gael’s but honestly this way works out just as well!

This was one of the best crime/thriller books I have read in a loooong time. The twists kept coming and I was not expecting them except for maybe one
Eye opening and comprehensive. Definitely helped me understand how we got where we are in the state of the world. As a person living in the U.S it helped me see how we got to where we are, what politicians/ capitalists are doing and how and why AND where we are headed. It was a fascinating read that was hard but needed.
I appreciated that it did end with hope. That if we as people unite starting small we can take back what’s ours and rebuild.
