No matter how many times I read this book, I always laugh and smile along with the antics of Winn-Dixie, the dog who smiles! I don't think anyone could read this heartwarming tale, full of loving, eccentric characters and not fall in love with Winn-Dixie and his friends!!

This is book is fabulous! It has everything, the sea, Irish myths, horses both from land and water, and cute boys with a taint of magic and salt in their bones.

I didn't know what to expect when I first started to read this book but it very quickly, drew me into the world of the capaill uisce. How desperately you want them be less monstrous and more horse, and how bitter the observation is that this will never happen. The horses belong to the sea and the storm surges through them everyday.

Maggie's writing is the best I've read in this novel. From her descriptions of Sean and Puck, their desciptions of each other. The very way we can built the island in our minds, shaped in magic and mystery. This novel is very much like the capaill usice, it can weave a spell and drag you under the water in a moment.

Any horse or magic lovers, or just those who ove a good tale. I suggets read this book - you won't be disappointed!

I used to read all of these books when I was young but I never actually made my way through them all. So I've decided to take a trip down memory lane with Amy,Lou,Ty and Pegasus and rediscover Heartland!
This book will always be special to me and always remind me of my deep love of horses and how much I wanted to be like Amy and help horses!
