If I could give half stars, this book would get a 4.5. It is much better than the first of the Wildwood series. It is written independently enough that you could read it without having read Wildwood Dancing and not be confused at all. This book has a higher maturity level than Wildwood but is still YA appropriate. I would recommend it for anyone interested in historical fiction, fantasy, adventure, and romance.
