This graphic novel of Hide is, visually, a vibrant contrast to the actual novel (which is a fun read). I love the illustrations and how the colors elevate the creepy fun of an amusement park and help to distort the true and evil intentions of the "game" and towns people involved. This adaptation streamlines the reader to all the good, juicy parts.
Its always fun to have a visual representation of characters and scenery, however I definitely had a more menacing monster rattling around in my brain when I first read Hide.

An easy read with some interesting haunts but too much of the book felt like a giant pat on the back for the author... and how like, WOW, she ain't afraid of no ghost (but you and/or most people would be)!

Highly recommend if you're down for getting lost in a twisty tale of bones, soul splitting, and murder(s) so foul.

A solid thriller with a slow start. I would've preferred more slasher fun and maybe a deep dive into the massacre and all things culty, but I still had fun.

This was a cute idea with a little something for everyone to enjoy. Getting older doesn't have to suck. My favorite part being that two BFFs wrote and illustrated it together, after each experiencing their own Swayze-Morrison/Ball'er years.

Neil Gaiman X dark fairy tale re-telling = an instant favorite. Chris Riddell's illustrations are gorgeous, to say the least.
