*listened on audiobook* I actually really liked this even though it seemed like if ‘Ingrid Goes West,’ ‘A Simple Favor’ and ‘Gone Girl’ had a baby. I kind of wished I read it instead of listened to the audiobook because the story bounced back and forth between so many characters but I think the voice actors did a really good job and bringing the characters to life.

I was really digging the world and magical creature buildup, but I'm really not into violent hate sex.

I'm a sucker for supernatural love triangles and reincarnation and I got sucked into this book the first time I read it that I needed to buy the other 2. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Because I'm one of those people that has to finish a series, I read this on my own post-book club. Storywise I think it's stronger than Parable of the Sower as there is a lot more activity that goes on throughout the book to entice you. However, it gets bleak AF and pretty much stays there for the majority of the book. Definitely suggest reading something lighthearted after.

I'm not saying that I was expecting a masterpiece given this is clearly comedy smut, but it definitely could have used another round of edits because lordy lordy were there a lot of grammatical and spelling errors. I think the bonus Tingler 'High Roller Lesbian Unicorn Goes All In On My Butt' was the better of the two stories.

You know what? Mad props to the author for going against the ideas of 'conventional beauty' in regards to Chrissys's looks. Also, it's refreshing to have a focus on the woman's sexual needs as opposed to 'I'm gonna put my dick in you right now.' A bit too cheesy on the Christmas theme, but otherwise solid and kinda wished this was a full-length novel so we can see our leads' love blossom at a slower pace.

I know this is a classic, but I personally don't enjoy stories focused on war (whether written or in filmed works). I do however want to watch the movie because I feel like I would get a better grasp of the plot and time travel aspect if I see it visually.
