This is such an important book that should 1000% be required reading for everyone (queer or not). I hope that this inspires queer Bipoc individuals to also share their stories in this way because I know that a lot of us struggle with the family members that are too deeply rooted in their “traditions” to understand their loved one for who they are. 

This book was so beautiful and eye-opening as it’s clear that everything is written from the author’s heart (and I assume also personal experiences). I do feel that the vignettes in between each section took away from Lily’s (and also Kath’s) journey, and I think the communism tidbits got a little bit lost (or in my opinion, weren’t particularly needed) throughout the story. I’m happy that there’s going to be a companion book for this because I just want Lily and Kath to be happy goddammit!

I would much rather watch her documentary to learn about her life. This book is very dry and they chose a terrible narrator.

This was super cute and heartwarming but also discusses social anxiety and depression in a digestible way that also made sense for the story. I wish that this could have been in color because the artwork was so pretty, but overall I was very happy that this exceeded my expectations.

There were only a handful of things that I would’ve liked to change but otherwise I really enjoyed this book. My first experience with this author was a short story and I was very motivated to read a full-length novel because I thought she did a wonderful job with character development. I’m so happy to have been correct about my thoughts and this is absolutely one of the books I will be recommending for those who love rom-coms with a pinch of soap opera-like drama.

That was by far the biggest letdown to a series run that I’ve ever read. I already voiced my opinions about the Aero/Wave side adventure being moved over to the Atlantis Attacks series and I’m mad that they did it again in this one when I’m reality if they didn’t add the Iron Man bullshit they could’ve easily wrapped up the series naturally. So disappointed since now we probably won’t be seeing Aero unless it’s team ups with the New Agents of Atlas.

I’m glad we didn’t have to see her boyfriend explaining the findings on that shard Aero gave him but I also am not a fan that Iron Man is there stealing her thunder regardless of them agreeing to team up. They could’ve brought back Wave or any of the other New Agents of Atlas as a guest star.

I can start to see where this is going since Iron Man is now in the picture and I’m not happy about it. It was cool to see Madame Huang’s motive though, and the artwork really knocked it out of the park in so many ways.

This could’ve gotten 5 stars but they HAD to just throw in Iron Man at the last minute. A great look at how much more powered up Aero’s powers got from just the last issue. I will say though, I’m starting to miss her little side adventure with Wave. Guess I’m just have to see them together in the New Agents of Atlas related stuff.

I know that the training montage type fluff is not everyone’s bag, but I do enjoy seeing if it’s done right (and especially for new characters). It’s really cool to see what else Aero’s powers can do apart from manipulating wind, and I can’t wait to see what kind of shenanigans our douchey land owner is going to get our heroine into.
