This month for book club we all picked an Agatha Christie to read. I grabbed this as a back-up in case the audiobook of “And Then There Were None” on hold didn’t come on time. (It didn’t.) Reading these made me want to read more Christie—I’ve been kind of avoiding her ever since I read one as a kid that I was likely too young to appreciate.
Seemed fitting to read a WWI novel in November 2018, on the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day. I knew nothing about it when my book club picked it for this month, so I'm glad it worked out!
Chick lit about knitters? Had to give it a try. It was fun enough that I may check out a couple more in the series.
This was a fun Christmassy read, but after a little while I had to check the author's nationality because I kept hearing Britishisms from supposed New Yorkers. Things like being "in hospital," opening a "tin of soup," and keeping dogs on a "lead." Yep, she's English! I enjoyed it, would read more of hers.
