I read some of the author's romances in the 1990s and was curious about what her contemporary stuff was like when this popped up on Overdrive. I don't know if it's my tastes or her writing that changed, but it didn't seem particularly funny or steamy. I rarely quit books without finishing them, but I stopped at about 60% in.

I almost stopped listening because the heroine was irritating me so very much. But then at least she realized she was being The Worst, which helped. I liked The Coincidence of Coconut Cake better.

You'd get side eye but this would be helpful baby shower gift! Fascinating read about the changing family/relationship dynamics that can come with kids, and how to keep building a happy marriage. (Spoiler alert: divide household tasks more evenly. That's what has so many women exhausted and crabby.)
